The inspection engineer for lifting, under general supervision performs a full range of technical inspection work involving capital improvement projects to ensure compliance with plans, codes, specifications, and contract provisions; ensures compliance with international standards and specifications, and performs related work as required.  General lifting accessories include chain slings, shackles, webbing slings, round slings, wire rope slings hooks, eye bolts, spreader beam /lifting beams.

Responsibilities

• To Attend the EIAC/ENAS/Oil and GAS Assessment to get Lifting Accessories Accreditation.
• To carry out inspection within the authorized scope of activity of the company as per the authorization list.
• To provide support during customer source inspection/audits and audit body surveillance.
• Managing preventative actions and continuous improvement activities.
• Review of quality aspects of customer specifications and contracts.
• Provide support to new departmental development activities.
• Preparing/Signing Inspection certificates/reports.
• Ensure a safe working environment for the inspection engineers at the client and office premises.
• Evaluating and assessing the competency and efficiency of inspection engineers.
• Preparing daily inspection summary and maintain the same for future audits and accreditation requirements.
• Identify the requirement regarding transportation, tools and machinery to fulfill the client’s & local requirements.
• Ensure a friendly relation with the customer representative regarding the inspection and requirement process.
• Handling the complaints from the customers and taking corrective actions.
• Identify the training requirements and communicate it with the top management.
• Reports to the Technical Manager, QM and Admin for Inspection Status.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Diploma in Engineering preferably in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in maintenance or operation of inspection of lifting equipment’s and accessories for Bachelors in engineering and 6 years for candidates having Diploma in Engineering.
• Knowledge related to following;
  • the technology used for the manufacture of the lifting equipment its operation processes and delivery;
  • the way in which the lifting equipment & accessories are used, and how the processes are operated;
  • detecting the defects which may occur during the use of the equipment & accessories and failures in the operation during inspection;
  • and good understanding on the significance of deviations found with regard to normal use of equipment & accessories
• Ability to communicate effectively with various levels of staff within the organization
• At least 2 years’ experience as an Inspection Engineer in UAE
• Language proficiency in English and Hindi, other languages will be added advantage
• UAE Driving License will be an added advantage
